Music Makers Activities
These are the activities that Music Makers is currently running or supporting:

Weekend Warriors
This is your chance to get back to the band. Weekend Warriors is a six week program that puts you in a band, coaches you for four weeks to be able to play five songs, and then puts you on stage with full sound and light for a concert for family and friends! To find a site near you, go to
www.weekendwarriors.org.au
Music in Action magazine
An inspirational and practical magazine for anyone involved with classroom music, specialist and generalist teacher alike.
Edited by Ann Blore, a musician, teacher and administrator in music, Music in Action is a treasure trove of ideas, information and stimulation.
The magazine is published by the Australian Music Association and Music Makers subsidises the production costs. Subscriptions are just $19.90 pa, for four issues.
Music Makes the Difference advocacy materials
An attractive brochure and matching poster that succinctly outline just a tiny portion of the huge number of research studies that show how valuable music is in every child’s education. Popular for use with parents, school councils and principals, and anywhere that you need to make the case for music.
The first 50 brochures are free and thereafter there is a charge to cover printing and postage. Download an order form or order online using a secure payment system. You are also welcome to download a pdf of the brochure.
Music.Play for Life
Music.Play for Life is a campaign to support and inspire the grassroots champions of music. Free stickers and posters, and a monthly e-newsletter are just the start. If you have a friends of music program or want to set one up, or want to support music in your school or community, this is the website for you. Music.Play for Life is a Music Council of Australia program and Music Makers is proud to be a founder contributor.
Political Advocacy
Through consistent and credible communications, Music Makers highlights the importance of music to Australia's lawmakers.
Entering its third year, Music Makers and the Australian Music Association have a sophisticated government relations programme working with AMA members and the Music.Play for Life campaign to ensure the importance of music is communicated constructively to governments and alternative governments in Canberra and in State Capitals across Australia.
